Hello CYA Football Fans!

 

Thank you for registering your player for CYA Football – it’s going to be a great 2024 season!

 

The first practice date - Monday August 5th – is fast approaching!

 

Below are some things that you need to do in preparation for the season:

 

First, each player is required to have a valid, unexpired Child ID issued by the DMV for his/her official weigh-in held in August – here is the link to the DMV website for more info:

Note that the last two seasons NVYFL allowed school IDs to be used instead of the DMV Child ID but no longer!  ONLY the DMV Child ID will be accepted at the official weigh-in.  Since it takes 5 to 10 business days after visiting the DMV to receive the ID in the mail and the first (and only free) official weigh-in is on Saturday August 10th, please go to the DMV as soon as possible!

 

Secondly, bring your player to be fitted for CYA Football equipment on one of the two dates below:

 

  1. Jul 14 Sunday - FIRST Equipment fitting 1:00 to 3:00pm at the CYA “Shed” Equipment Facility, 12504 Bennett Road Herndon, VA
  2. AJuly 21/28 (TBD) Saturday - SECOND Equipment fitting 10:00 to 12:00pm at the CYA Shed

 

Here are other important CYA Football dates:

 

  1. Aug 5 Monday - First day of practice at Greenbriar Park, 6 – 8 pm!
  2. Aug 10 Saturday - FIRST official weigh-in at MARSHALL HS (this is the ONLY FREE WEIGH-IN!), MUST HAVE DMV ID CARD
  3. Aug 17 Saturday - SECOND official weigh-in at MARSHALL HS - $20 late fee, cash only, MUST HAVE DMV ID CARD
  4. Aug xx Monday - FCPS first day of school
  5. Aug 24 Saturday - THIRD weigh-in at MARSHALL HS - $20 late fee, cash only, MUST HAVE DMV ID CARD
  6. August 31 Saturday - Sully Bowl pre-season games at Greenbriar – every CYA team plays their first game this day!
  7. Sep 1 Sunday - FINAL weigh-in, Vienna Community Center Annex, Time TBD, $60 late fee, cash only
  8. Sep 2 Monday – Labor Day holiday
  9. Sep 10 Tuesday - Reduce from 5 to 3 practices per week
  10. Sep 14 Saturday - Additional pre-season game vs. McLean @ Marshall HS
  11. Sep 21/22 Sat/Sun - First regular season games
  12. Oct 26 Saturday - Final regular season games
  13. TBD Mon/Fri - Playoff games (as scheduled)
  14. Nov 2/3 Sat/Sun - Playoff games
  15. Nov 9th Saturday – Championships
